Four Reasons Why You Should Outsource

This is the era of competition. To thrive in such an environment, you not only need an exceptional product, you also need amazing customer support to back it up. I’ve heard of countless people who gave up on a company they’d patronized for decades just because of poor service. But the sad fact is that providing good customer service is horribly expensive and can really bite into your profit margin. One way of keeping the costs down is through outsourcing.

Outsourcing as a phenomenon is quite misunderstood in the modern business world. Few business managers understand it enough to take full advantage of it. To most, it means having a little call center in India or Phillipines. However, outsourcing is much more complex and can make or break your business, unless you understand it fully.

The advantages of outsourcing are pretty apparent. For one, you save tons of money since the pay rates in third world countries is a lot less. You also save on infrastructure costs.
Two, you can have 24/7 customer support in any time zone. When I buy something from a company, I don’t want to be stuck with a non-functioning product without any support, even if it be the middle of the night. With outsourcing, this becomes possible.

Three, with all customer support issues taken care of, you can focus on your core product. Since you don’t have to worry about answering emails or phone calls, you can work on what you really do best: your product.

Four, many (if not all) places you outsource to are run professionally and have trained staff. If you run an in-house call center, you will have to train personnel, while if you outsource the whole process, you’ll have to deal with none of that.

But its not just enough to outsource; you must outsource to the right people. Good services don’t come cheap, and this is true with outsourcing too. If you want the best, you should be expected to pay the best possible rate.
