Over the last few years, there has been a growth of public art with sculptures and murals appearing in shopping centres, streets and town squares. Obviously it’s essential in these situations not only to get planning permission but to consult local people. Even if your large format printing images look eye catching and beautiful to you and perhaps your customers, if your neighbours and those using the streets around don’t like them then you could be heading for a PR disaster. Whether you want to generate some controversy and debate – as poster advertising can do – is another matter but identifying the risks beforehand is very important.

These posters can also be used as a teaser – an enigmatic image or slogan on the pvc banners across a building where work is clearly taking place but little is known about what is going to happen on the site can generate interest amongst local people and potential customers.
